Student Scholarships



The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Florida Region offers competitive scholarships to students pursuing a program related to architecture, engineering and construction at an accredited university/college in the State of Florida. The competitive scholarships are awarded by the DBIA Florida Region Board and are currently available in various amounts up to a maximum (lifetime/individual) of $1500. All scholarships are awarded for use in the fall term of the next academic year.
 

Undergraduate Scholarships


Amount: $1,000 - Up to three scholarships will be awarded.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
  • Have completed one year of college, be currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited university/college for the fall term, and be pursuing a program in one of the following disciplines:
    • Building Construction
    • Construction Management
    • Architecture/Interior Design
    • Architecture/Civil/Construction Engineering
  • Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher (using a 4.0 grading scale)
  • Complete and submit the online application.
  • Be enrolled fulltime in a program for the fall term.
  • Students in their final undergraduate year should apply for the graduate scholarship and should have been accepted to attend a full-time graduate program in the next academic year to qualify for a scholarship. 
Applications will be accepted between January 1 to April 17, 2020.  Notification will be made by the second week of May. Funds will be dispersed to the universities/colleges of the scholarship recipients.

Graduate Scholarships


Amount: $1,000 - Up to two scholarships will be awarded

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student at an accredited university/college for the fall term, and must, and must be pursuing research work in one of the following disciplines: Building Construction/Construction Management; Architecture/Interior Design; Architecture/Civil/Construction Engineering
  • Or currently be a senior undergraduate student and have a desire to pursue graduate study in the above disciplines upon graduation.
  • Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher (using a 4.0 grading scale)
  • Complete and submit the online application
  • Be enrolled full-time in graduate school for the fall term of 2020.
  • Have at least one full academic year remaining in graduate school in the Fall of 2020.
Applications will be accepted between January 1 to April 17, 2020.  Notification will be made by the second week of May. Funds will be dispersed to the universities/colleges of the scholarship recipients.
