How to Get Involved Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Florida Region of DBIA. As a membership-based organization, we rely on your support. In return for your involvement, you will make valuable contacts and increase your insight into the design-build industry. Active committees and chapter organizations of the region include: Program Committee The charge of this committee is to develop and facilitate a wide variety of Region programs that provide valuable educational and networking opportunities for all parties to the design-build method of project delivery. Membership Committee This committee seeks to institute and promote activities to increase the membership of the DBIA and the Florida Region. The primary duty of the Membership Committee is to recruit new members and retain existing members. Legislative Committee This committee works to help secure design-build enabling legislation. In Florida the focus is at the local level. Owners Council The Owners Council is exclusively for owners of construction projects both public and private. The council serves as the voice of owners within the DBIA and develops programs of interest to owners. Chapter Organizations Chapter committees help to develop and implement programs and services of interest to members in their geographic area. Currently, there are Chapters active in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Jacksonville and Orlando. If you would like to become involved on a committee and/or your local Chapter, please contact Karen Wallace at (407) 563-1410.
