DBIA Mission

The design-build concept has been embraced by great civilizations throughout history.  In classical Greece, master builders were engaged to both design and build monumental structures.  The master builders accepted full responsibility for the conceptual design and the functional performance of their projects.  The master builder was the chief architect, engineer and builder.  Ultimately, the master builder was responsible for the outcome of every aspect of his work.  The enduring beauty and presence of magnificent structures like the Parthenon and the Temple of Dionysus are a testament to the age old process of integrated design-build services.

The resurgence of the master builder concept is the basis for DBIA.  Modern day design-builders are fully accountable for their project from conception through completion.  They ensure design quality, effectively control costs and schedule, and deliver a high quality product.  The Florida Region of DBIA is dedicated to leading the expansion of design-build utilization across all industries and markets in the State of Florida.
